It’s a Man’s World

Cairo in the year 2007: TW’s tableaux are the aesthetic presentation of a metropolis, the interlacing of time and space that shapes the modernity of a city. Cairo is like a transparent image for the artist – a stage for urban stereograms, reminding him of an old lament by James Brown: “This is a man’s world, but it would be nothing without a woman or a girl.”
For this series, TW was awarded the art prize Kunstpreis Fotografie 2008, donated by Lotto GmbH Land Brandenburg, Potsdam.
